Months 1-2 The Littermate 2
Your puppy grows rapidly these first 2 months. Her mother provides most of her care, and she and her littermates teach your pup the skills she needs to know.
Month 3 Your Puppy Comes Home 20
You choose your pup this month and then go home and prepare for his arrival. When you have him home, you begin crate and housetraining, get him his vaccines, and more.
Month 4 Finding Her Way 64
Teething begins Month 4. She's in the critical period for socialization, so that's your focus this month while you have fun playing together.
Month 5 The Rebel 100
Your puppy becomes more independent this month. His vaccines are finished, socialization continues, and obedience training and household rules are reinforced.
Month 6 Full Speed Ahead 138
She looks more like an adult dog this month, and injuries are likely as she romps and runs. Expect behavior issues as she tests the rules with her new "Bulldog attitude."
Month 7 The Silly Tweenager 170
At 7 months, consider spaying or neutering your pup. Exercise is important, and training continues, further cementing the bond you share.
Month 8 Adolescence 202
Teenagers are a challenge, as you learn this month. Watch for and treat coat problems if they develop, and help her learn concentration and self-control.
Month 9 In Search of a Leader 228
Your pup begins to develop mature male or female physical characteristics this month. Expect him to test your authority; be sure to react kindly and fairly.
Month 10 In Transition 256
You can begin comparing your puppy to the breed standard this month. You'll see some teenage behavior regression as you prepare for off-leash control.
Month 11 Putting Your Bulldog to Work 294
At 11 months, he's almost an adult. You can more easily travel with him now and get him involved with dog sports. You also can work on obedience and tricks.
Month 12 Your Bulldog Grows Up 312
